Oak House is registered to provide care for up to three children and young people, any gender, from ages 6-17 years old.

We specialise in providing therapeutic care and support for children who have autism, ADHD, communication needs and traumatic backgrounds.

This home is part of the My3 portfolio of My 3 Care and to also include Wood Edge Independent School and My3 Therapeutic Services.

Oak house is set within a semi-rural area of West Lancashire, and within easy access to the larger Merseyside, Manchester and Cheshire regions.

We are located in the market town of Ormskirk and a neighbour to the Edge Hill University campus where we are always made welcome to use the gyms, sports halls, swimming pool, library, extensive grounds and gardens.

Oak House Ethos

At Oak House, we believe that all children and young people have the right to a bright and fulfilled future. We aim to provide them with the best possible care, support, and quality of life they deserve, that will enable them to go into adulthood with grounded life experiences and with the opportunity and potential to succeed.

We have a successful track record working with young people, who for many different reasons have not been able to live in their family home.

As a team, we try our best to make everyone feel comfortable enough to make Oak House their home away from home and not just a place where they are living.

Our reputation really does speak for itself. Ask any of our stake holders and I am sure they would say that the team at Oak House go above and beyond to make sure that the home and environment is clean, decorated to a high standard, tidy, homely, but more importantly, a comfortable and enjoyable place to live, where all our young people can feel safe, secure, and thrive in every way possible.

How we see Success …

'Arriving at Oak house as a shy, reserved, and nervous boy, with a diagnosis of Autism and Global Development Delay, is now accessing the local community independently. After months of hard work from the team, to build his confidence and independence skills, he has joined a local explorers club, mixing with other young people of a similar age. It is lovely to see how he is maturing into a confident young man.'

Young Person – KS4 Male – October 2022

The team at Oak House are all fully trained to a minimum of Apprenticeship level 4, and can provide excellent support for young people with a wide range of needs but most notably Autism, Learning Difficulties, ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
The staff team are also highly skilled with BA Hons in Health and Social Care, Teaching, Music, Sports and even an MA in Physical activity and Mental Health. These skills combined, and with input from the My3 therapeutic team, allows us to develop and build support packages that are individualised and unique for every young person that we support.

How we see Success …

'One of our young people, who has a diagnosis of Autism and is non-verbal, came to Oak House displaying high anxieties around communication. The team have supported him to learn how to build strong trusting relationships to relieve his worries and distresses, repeating the same conversations and always looking for reassurance. He now spends his time doing activities that make him relaxed and happy'

Testimonials ...

"I would just like to thank all of the workers at Oak House for all of the hard work that they put in to ensuring that the YP who I am IRO for feels valued and nurtured. Oak House is a really homely placement which is just what this YP needed. I can see that he is really settled where he is, really liked, and that he is encouraged to be the best that he can be in every respect."
IRO -  Liverpool

"Oak House is amazing, homely and has everything that the YP needs. I think what the home is doing with YP is brilliant."
Advocate - St Helens

"James, the manager, is an asset to Oak House and works in an excellent way to provide stability within the home.  The difference it makes with a well organised manager to the team.  For this reason, I have had no concerns with the work that the team and James are doing with both young people.  At this point, I cannot say there are areas of improvement needed as there is excellent communication throughout the children’s care plan with the Local Authority."
Social Worker - Liverpool

"Every time I visit Oak House, the staff are always friendly and willing to help me in any way they can.  I know that my young person enjoys being there and feels safe."
Foster Parent - Young Person
